Rise of the Dipterocarp , Lindung X ROR 2015

Rythms Of Rimba ( ROR ) Wild Life Festival is a unique festival that celebrates the beauty & diversity of wild-life in borneo. Through experiential education, the amazing folks from Future Alam Borneo( FAB ) & PAWSE  created a 2 day event pack full outdoor activities, conservation & environmental talks, creative workshops & live music. We took on the behemoth task of serving a 6 course dinner to 100 VIP guest ,scientist,freedom fighters,artist & musicians from all walks of a ”green life”. And so we designed a bespoke menu entitled “Rise of the Dipterocarp ” inspired by the 4 layers of a tropical rainforest, namely Forest Floor,Understory, Canopy & Emergent.  It was extremely challenging to identify the characteristics of each distinctive layer, then and translating it into a well balance mouthfull, On top of it trying our best to use locally sourced ingredients. With over 30 elements of Mise En Place, we had to push hard from 7am in the morning. Nonetheless it was all worth the pain as the night ended in a rowdy standing ovation filled with mutual love & respect .11148856_817109294577_4169025838435202367_o

    Hi, i went to Lindung Sepilok during Christmas day. I was quiet surprised as the place is a very beautiful place. Just need your assurance, are the food being served here are halal certified? I am aware of the alcohol being served but its just that we are a travel companies catering for Muslim travelers and interested to put Lindung Sepilok as one of the itineraries. Looking forward for your response.
